Mark Simmons: Meteorites, Mushrooms and a Magnificent Salmon: Tales from the Natural History Collection

These are the stories behind three magnificent natural history objects in the collections of Perth Museum.

The oldest object on display is the Corston fragment of the Strathmore meteorite.

When a young Beatrix Potter came on holiday to Perthshire one of the people, she most wanted to meet was the local postman. They were both engaged in the scientific study of fungi.

Miss Ballantine went into the record books when she caught a 64lb salmon.
